Science Explorers week-long science summer camps are day camps offered at elementary schools, colleges and universities, museums, libraries, botanical gardens and parks & recreation departments throughout PA, NJ and DE. Our exciting, hands-on approach to science provides children the unique opportunity to conduct exciting and engaging experiments and activities. Our curriculum is developed by educators and lessons are aligned with the national science standards. In short, we make learning science FUN! Thank you for your support of science literacy!

Summer Camps for ages 7-11:

Potions, Powders & Polymers

Is it science or magic? You’ll find out! In our half day camp you’ll create erupting foam monsters, conduct amazing air pressure experiments, dig for hidden treasures, investigate the science of illusions and build spectroscopes to view the spectrum of different types of light. Stay for the full day and we’ll reveal many mysteries of science as we investigate creepy creatures, learn troll tricks, capture a rainbow in a bottle, make instant snow, mix up glowing slime and conduct lab tests on mystery substances. For children ages 7-11.

Take a Dive

Dive into the world of marine biology and oceanography! In our half day camp you’ll dissect a real shark, participate in a fisherman’s challenge, examine the anatomy of a fish and learn the ancient technique of gyotaku or “fish rubbing”, learn to survive at sea with a homemade solar still, create a kelp forest and make your own submarine. Stay for the full day camp and come face-to-face with some unique sea creatures!  You’ll complete a squid dissection, bring to life genuine Triassic Triops, conduct a whale adaptations lab, and examine many weird wonders that live under the sea!  For children ages 7-11.

Take A Dive – Weekly Schedule

FUN-omenal Physics

What do you get when you take the physics of motion, add in some electrifying experiments, and mix it up with some chemistry? Everyone has a blast!  In our half day camp you’ll create your own motorized invention, experiment with light and flight, make your own kaleidoscope and experiment with giant floating bubbles. Stay for the full day and use chromatography to separate the colors in candy, mix up some crazy chemical reactions, build an electric game, investigate the effects of air pressure, and compete in a tall tower engineering competition! For children ages 7-11.

Leonardo’s Toy Chest

Many of Leonardo da Vinci’s great inventions were scientific marvels…and make excellent toys! Fill your toy box with wooden creations of your own that came from Leonardo’s designs. In the half day camp we’ll create a clockwork car, attack a castle with your own catapult, project an image through a camera obscura, and show your artistic side while making a revolving stage with figures that dance or jump!   In the full day camp you’ll construct more wooden inventions including a pinball machine, a robot drummer where you set the rhythm, and a paddlewheel boat that you can race. Science is combined with play to bring you this awesome new camp.   Children ages 8-11.   (We will be working with tools.)

Amusement Park Adventures  – half day only

Come along for the ride as we build, mix and spin our way to an awesome Science Explorers’ carnival day! Visit the midway where you’ll experience first-hand a rockin’ rollercoaster, bouncing bungees, and creations and concoctions straight from the lab including a super spin-art machine, homemade ice-cream, awesome art potions and a “gingerly-made” soda. For children ages 7-11.

Amusement Park Adventures Weekly Schedule

Secrets of Ancient Civilizations – half day only 

Help us uncover secrets of the ancient civilizations. We will explore Egypt, Mesopotamia, China, and Rome. Join us as we go back in time to these amazing places and discover how mummies were made, try timekeeping with the sun, use natural dyes to create works of art, build your own pyramid and have fun designing and launching catapults! For children ages 7-11.

Summer Camps for ages 4-6:

Jr. Investigative Team ages 4-6 – Half Day only

“Hey there, future Science Explorers, do we have the camp for you!” Join our team of curious tiny-techs as we explore a new theme each day. We will create an edible ocean, experiment with a “magic” magnet bottle, investigate butterflies, discover how birds adapt to their environments and make colorful sidewalk chalk! Children are never too young to be scientists!

Jr. Investigative Team Daily Schedule

Jr. Explorers ages 4-6 – Half Day only

Do you want to be an archaeologist…a geologist…or how about a biologist ? You can be all this and more in this fun-filled camp! Each day we’ll explore a new habitat as we dig for dinosaurs in the desert, make creatures of the rainforest, create an arctic home, erupt a volcano, and go spelunking in your own cave creation.  There’s so much to do in this exciting week of camp.

Please provide a morning and afternoon snack. (If attending an Full Day, please provide lunch)
A confirmation email will be sent once the registration process is complete. It will include a receipt with our tax ID and the required medical forms. Please make sure to bring the medical forms on your first day of camp. Those who register through a school or township will not receive an email from Science Explorers.
