STEMventures Grant Funding

We are partnering with schools and community organizations around the country to provide programming that aligns with the parameters of their grant funding. State standards and research-based practices are central to Science Explorers lessons, students just think it’s fun! We can help customize an after-school program, classroom enrichment, community outreach, and/or camp program that will fit your needs. Our synchronous and asynchronous options are part of the many flexible solutions we have developed for our partners.

Grants | Science Explorers

Our grant support includes:

  • Pre and post-learning surveys
  • Individual student project kits shipped to the home or to the classroom
  • Virtual teacher training (if you prefer to have your own staff to lead activities)
  • Represent Science Explorers during monitoring visits

Academic Recovery: How do we address lost learning?

School administrators, communities, and families are tasked with the multi-faceted challenges to mitigate the educational, social, and emotional impact of COVID-19. A cross-disciplinary strategy will be essential to our national campaign to reclaim lost learning. You already know research shows STEM improves reading comprehension, math skills, and science foundations, and engages higher-order thinking.

What EVERY Science Explorer Learns:

Science

Reinforced science foundations, cultivating curiosity.

Technology

Deepened critical thinking from recording data and technological innovation.

Reading

Increased reading comprehension from contextual vocabulary, visuals, and informational text.

Engineering

Building resilience through the Engineering Design Process.

Empowerment from creative self-expression to communicate ideas.

Math

Understanding mathematical contexts that build confidence.

Factors related to student achievement

Our hands-on science kits are developed with research-based practices that represent positive key factors to student achievement. In addition, our lessons are accessible to the learning needs of our most vulnerable at-risk student subgroups: low-income students, children with disabilities, English learners, racial and ethnic minorities, students experiencing homelessness, and foster care youth.

American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief | ARP ESSER

On Thursday, March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act was signed into law. It is an unprecedented $1.9 trillion package of assistance measures, including $122 billion for the ARP Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ARP ESSER) Fund. Funds are provided to State educational agencies and school districts to help safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the Nation’s students.

Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers

This program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.
